A Note on How to Enter Grade Marks other than the E-G-S-N System:
To enter grade marks such as A, A+, A-, B, B+, ... , F, type the mark (e.g. A, A+, A-, B, B+, B-, C, C+, C-, D, D+, D- , or F) in the 'Num text box' and then click on 'Num score' button. ('Num text box' is located to the left of the 'Num score' button; you can type ANYTHING in the 'Num text box')

To alleviate teachers' burden as they enter marks for the numerous assignments regularly, we have come up with our innovative app that reduces the time consumed in mark entry to a fraction.
To achieve this, we employ a mobile phone and an assigned barcode for each student therefore all you have to do is to scan the attached barcode and enter the marks, levels or some comments.
This way, teachers no longer need to search repetitively a student on a conventional mark book containing a list of tens or hundreds of students . The mark for an entry will then be filled into an excel sheet in the format of a traditional mark book which in turn can be viewed on the phone or sent to the computer.
The designated barcode for each student can be generated by many free online tools.
There is a "manual entry" button designed for the special case where a student failed to attach barcode or the barcode is not clear enough.
This App will save teachers' time as well as alleviate their stress on an everyday basis at almost no cost. For the students, sticking barcode labels to assignments is as easy as (indeed it is even easier than) writing names/classes/IDs.
IN ADDITION: The excel files generated by the App can be easily submitted to the school or the university's management systems; then it is possible for the school to write simple scripts so that the management systems can read the excel files and generate reports across subjects, automatically. These auto-generated reports (some are auto-sent to the students) are useful for monitoring the learning process.
(Different schools use different management systems; this App generates standard excel files for the management systems to read; scripts need to be written for this purpose, but they will be simple due to the standard format of the excel files. )
HOW TO USE THE APP:
Right after you install the app, the first thing to do is create a new class by clicking the "create a new class" button. The new class will be set as the '"current class" (You can add multiple classes so you should set one class as the "current class"). Then you can add students to this current class by entering their designated barcode values and their names (barcode value can be entered by typing or by scanning).
You can select a current class, and add a new task and the added new task will be set as your "current task" , and then you are ready enter the marks and comments for each student by scanning the barcode attached to the assignment or exam. It is easy for you to modify records already made.
Sometimes it is necessary to switch to an old task and enter or modify records for that task; but most of the time you work on the latest task.
